Lady Wines-days! : The Prisoner

It may be hot outside, but that doesn't mean a full bodied, hearty red has to be out of the question! Especially when it's one this special. This has to be one of the FULLEST reds I have ever tasted. So much happening on the nose, and from start to finish, you feel this wine all the way through you. Ladies and gentlemen, may I introduce Orin Swift Cellars: THE PRISONER.

51% Zinfandel,19% Cabernet Sauvignon,18% Syrah,7% Petite Sirah,3% Charbono,1% Grenache, and 1% Malbec ... If that is not a party in your mouth, I don't know what is! The nose on this gem smells identical to a chocolate raspberry truffle, and when you taste it, it goes down smooth in a blend of cognac and blackberries, then turns spicy in the back of your mouth. As if you thought the flavor was done changing, a hint of pepper then comes through and finishes with a with a powerhouse of spice! It literally explodes right at the end.

This wine was so special, it got it's own Wines-day out of me. The bottle runs about $35.00 on average, but it is worth every penny! And might I recommend a good nosh with this, because the alcohol content will blow your mind! A flat bread pizza would be a GREAT idea with this. Cheers!
